Psalm 61:1&2

Psalm 61:1&2 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

These verses show David at one of the lowest points in his life. He feels exhausted, overwhelmed, and alone, yet he knows that God is still listening. Instead of giving up or keeping everything bottled up, David cries out to God in prayer. He asks, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” David understands that he isn’t strong enough to overcome his struggles on his own. He needs God to lift him to a place of safety, strength, and peace. This prayer ultimately points us to Jesus, the true Rock who never changes. When life feels confusing, stressful, or out of control, our hope isn’t found in believing in ourselves but in trusting Christ. He is our refuge, our protector, and the solid foundation we can stand on when everything else feels uncertain. Whether you’re facing anxiety, disappointment, family struggles, or pressure from friends, God invites you to come to Him honestly. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay or have all the answers. Jesus welcomes those who are tired and overwhelmed. Trusting in Christ doesn’t always change your circumstances immediately, but it changes how you walk through them; with His strength, peace, and security. When everything around you feels shaky, remember that your hope is anchored in the unchanging Rock.
