The SAMS FUSION programme offers placement opportunities for young adults from South America to serve in churches across the island of Ireland. Participants from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay have enriched local churches with their skills, enthusiasm, and cultural perspectives.
The process begins with an informal conversation between a member of the SAMS team and a church interested in becoming a placement host. If a suitable opportunity is identified, SAMS works closely with the local church to develop a placement role that reflects both the church’s ministry needs and the volunteer’s gifts, and experience. Practical arrangements are also carefully considered to ensure a positive and rewarding placement for everyone involved.
FUSION placements provide churches with the opportunity to welcome young adults who bring fresh ideas, new perspectives, and a global outlook to ministry. At the same time, participants gain valuable experience in Christian service, leadership, cross-cultural mission, and community engagement.

The SAMS BTN programme offers individuals and churches the opportunity to visit and actively engage with Christian communities across South America. BTN is not a form of tourism, but an opportunity to share in the life and mission of God’s people in another part of the world. Because of this, placements require careful preparation. When a suitable opportunity arises, the time before travel becomes an important season of prayer, reflection, and relationship-building, laying the foundations for genuine fellowship and fruitful partnership in the gospel.
Through these experiences, participants gain first-hand insight into the life, ministry, and mission of local churches, developing a deeper appreciation of God’s work around the world. BTN seeks to create meaningful experiences and lasting friendships that foster cross-cultural understanding and a shared joy in the gospel. By building strong and enduring relationships between churches, the programme strengthens the global body of Christ and encourages collaboration, mutual encouragement, and prayerful partnership in God’s mission.
