Alec is an Argentine agricultural engineer who has devoted more than forty years to walking alongside the Wichí people of northern Argentina. In founding the Fundación SIWOK, he has sought not merely to deliver development projects, but to serve the dignity, agency, and long-term flourishing of Indigenous communities through practical and patient love. At the heart of SIWOK’s work lies a conviction that true transformation is holistic. Clean water, sustainable agriculture, and food security are not ends in themselves, but means of restoring stability to families and communities long affected by marginalisation. Through irrigation systems, school gardens, and agricultural training, SIWOK equips Wichí leaders to cultivate their own land and strengthen local resilience. Alongside this, the foundation encourages education and the development of local crafts, fostering both cultural continuity and economic opportunity. Training Indigenous leaders remains central, ensuring that initiatives are not imposed from outside but owned from within. In all this, Alec’s work reflects a steady, incarnational commitment: to dwell with, to serve quietly, and to seek the good of a people in ways that are patient, respectful, and deeply rooted in place.
In Argentina’s Gran Chaco, Wichí communities face significant challenges linked to deforestation, limited land rights, and poverty, all of which affect health, education, and livelihoods. In 2026, a new initiative was launched to support women and children through long-term, community-led development. The programme strengthens education through experiential learning, including the Garden Project, which uses hands-on agricultural activities to enhance literacy, nutrition, and engagement. Women are also supported through weaving and craft initiatives that build confidence and create sustainable income opportunities, while community-led agricultural training improves food security through improved water access and drip irrigation systems. Together, these efforts aim to foster dignity, resilience, and sustainable, self-determined futures rooted in culture and community.
Chris is a long-term Christian mission worker and community development practitioner who has served in the Gran Chaco region of northern Argentina for many years. His work has focused on accompanying Indigenous communities, particularly the Wichí and other native peoples, supporting local leadership development, education, and church-based community initiatives. Wallis emphasizes partnership rather than dependency, encouraging Indigenous leaders to guide the future of their own communities and institutions. Through collaboration with local churches and organizations, he has helped strengthen networks of faith, cultural identity, and social development across the Chaco, a vast and environmentally challenging region of northern Argentina.
CeFA (Centro de Formación Anglicano) in Ingeniero Juárez is helping raise a new generation of Indigenous Christian leaders in northern Argentina. Opened in 2024, the centre trains young adults and community leaders from Wichí, Toba, and other local groups to serve their churches and communities. Students learn about the Bible, leadership, pastoral care, and how to respond to real-life challenges such as addiction, and community wellbeing. CeFA’s vision is to empower local people to lead with confidence, faith, and hope across the Gran Chaco region.
Rev. Marcos serves as coordinator of the Vida Abundante and El Amor de Dios courses taught in the Wichí language, travelling across northern Argentina to support local tutors and provide resources and training workshops. He also contributes to theological education at the Centro de Formación Anglicano (CeFA) in Ingeniero Juárez, Formosa Province, training church leaders from oral storytelling cultures through intensive residential study. He further serves as a tutor in an itinerant seminary across Northern Argentina, bringing contextual theological formation to remote communities. His ministry emphasizes accessible, community-rooted education and walking alongside local believers in faith and growth in Christ Jesus.
Rev. David is a minister serving in La Paz, Bolivia. His ministry focuses on sharing the gospel, strengthening local congregations, and developing disciples who can serve their communities with faith and integrity. Working within the Anglican Church in Bolivia, he is committed to biblical teaching, pastoral care, and raising up new generations of Christian leaders. His work reflects the Anglican tradition’s emphasis on worship, discipleship, and community engagement. Through preaching, mentoring, and outreach, David seeks to encourage spiritual growth, support families, and help the church play a positive role in the social and spiritual life of Bolivia.
The ReVive Safe House in Olinda, Brazil, provides a secure and caring home for children and teenagers who have experienced abuse, exploitation, trafficking, or neglect. Founded by Andy and Rose Roberts, ReVive opened its first home in 2014 as the city’s first dedicated shelter for vulnerable girls. The programme offers safety, education, counselling, healthcare, and opportunities for personal growth while helping young people recover from trauma. ReVive believes every child deserves a loving family and works towards family reunification, foster care, or adoption whenever possible. Through compassionate care and long-term support, ReVive seeks to restore lives and renew hope for a brighter future.
Rev. Esteban is an Anglican pastor serving at St. Saviour’s in Antofagasta, a major port and mining city in northern Chile. Since arriving in 2014, he has led the church’s mission of sharing the gospel, discipling believers, and serving the local community through practical outreach initiatives. Esteban is passionate about developing healthy churches, equipping Christian leaders, and demonstrating Christ’s love through both evangelism and community engagement across northern Chile.
The apprenticeship initiative in Santiago, invests in emerging Christian leaders such as Hugo Gutiérrez, Ricardo Bartra, and Carolina Schmidt as they grow in gospel ministry and service. Through mentoring, local church experience, theological study, and practical mission opportunities, participants are equipped to lead with biblical conviction and pastoral wisdom. Training is carried out within the life of the local church and is supported by Anglican formation pathways, including ministry apprenticeships and theological education initiatives. The programme aims to develop faithful disciples, church planters, and ministry leaders who can serve the church and reach their communities with the hope of Christ.
Rev. Alex and his wife Karina serve in Anglican ministry in Concepción, southern Chile. After completing theological training at the Anglican Church of Chile’s Centre for Pastoral Studies (CEP), Alex returned to his home city to help strengthen discipleship, develop local church ministry, and support church planting initiatives. Ordained in 2022, he serves at San Pedro Church under the leadership of the Anglican Diocese of the South of Chile. Together, Alex and Karina are committed to nurturing Christian faith, mentoring believers, and building gospel-centred communities. Their ministry reflects a passion for local mission, discipleship, and raising up future leaders for the Chilean church.
Andrés and Annika are serving in Santiago, Chile. They work within the Anglican Church of Chile, combining local church ministry with theological education. Andrés is involved in teaching at the Centre for Pastoral Studies (CEP) and supporting discipleship and leadership formation for emerging church leaders, while also serving in a local congregation (ISA). Together, they mentor students, run discipleship groups, and help strengthen biblical teaching across the church. Their ministry focuses on raising up well-equipped pastors and lay leaders for long-term service in Chile and beyond.
The Esperanza Home in Asunción, Paraguay, is a small residential care home founded in 2005 by Penny and Murray Metcalfe to support infants awaiting adoption or family reunification. It aims to provide a safe, loving environment grounded in Christian values where a small number of children under five can develop and recover from difficult early circumstances. Staff and volunteers support steady progress through consistent care. With only a small number of children cared for at any time, each child receives focused attention for their development, health, and emotional wellbeing before being placed with families. The home has supported over 200 children so far.
Rev. Guillermo is an Anglican minister serving in Concepción, Paraguay, where he leads St. Paul’s Church. His ministry is rooted in pastoral leadership, preaching, and discipleship, with a strong focus on sharing the gospel and strengthening the local church. After many years of prayer and preparation within his community, he was installed as pastor in 2023, responding to a long-standing need for stable leadership in the congregation. Together with his wife Rosa, he serves the church through hospitality, mentoring, and supporting families. Their ministry emphasises spiritual growth, church unity, and outreach, seeking to see lives transformed through Christ in northern Paraguay.
Escuela San Andrés, formerly The Annexe School, was founded in 1972 by Glenys Williams in La Chacarita, a disadvantaged area of Asunción. The school provides education from nursery to Year 6 for around 110 children, combining academic learning with pastoral care and Christian values. Its mission is to help break cycles of poverty by expanding access to education and opportunity in a community marked by both hardship and resilience. Principal Catalino Bogado leads the school with a vision of nurturing hope, character, and opportunity, supported by partnerships that strengthen its work with local families.
FEISA (Facultad/Proyecto Educativo asociado a la Universidad Evangélica del Paraguay) is a faith-based educational initiative focused primarily on training early childhood and primary education teachers. Its mission is to integrate Christian faith with academic learning, forming educators who are committed to both professional excellence and values-based teaching. FEISA places strong emphasis on child-centred pedagogy, encouraging creative, interactive, and play-based learning approaches. Through its degree and training programmes, it seeks to improve the quality of education in Paraguay, particularly for marginalised communities.
Melissa Newell is a Methodist mission partner serving in Misahuallí, a small Amazonian town in eastern Ecuador. Melissa works with the United Evangelical Methodist Church of Ecuador, focusing on discipleship, community engagement, and church development. Her ministry includes teaching, supporting local congregations, and building relationships with indigenous and riverine communities in the Napo region. Based in a jungle context, she also helps facilitate children’s activities, and cross-cultural mission partnerships.
SAMS provides annual grants to support theological students and emerging church leaders across South America, enabling access to formal theological education. These grants form part of a wider ecclesial commitment to strengthening Anglican churches through the deliberate investment in local leadership. At its core, this work recognises that theological education is not a secondary concern, but a vital means by which the church is formed in faithfulness, shaped for mission, and equipped for service. In nurturing well-prepared, locally rooted leaders, SAMS participates in the patient work of building the church’s life and witness across the region.
Cristo Redentor School and Santísima Trinidad School are church-linked schools in Peru connected to Anglican mission and community education initiatives. Serving children from surrounding neighbourhoods; often in contexts where access to quality education is limited, they seek to offer more than academic instruction alone. At their heart is a commitment to forming the whole child, where learning is shaped by Christian faith lived out in practice: in respect, responsibility, and service. Education is understood as a shared life, not merely a classroom task, where faith is expressed through daily relationships, care for children, and attentiveness to families. Within this work, Isabel Sánchez contributes to leadership and educational support, helping to strengthen teaching practice and school development. Together, these schools embody a lived witness in which Christian faith is not abstract, but enacted in the rhythms of community life and education.
Penny de Marces is engaged in children’s ministry in Peru, accompanying vulnerable children and families through community-based care, education support, and Christian outreach. Her work addresses the pressures that poverty places on children; such as disrupted schooling and social vulnerability, by helping to create spaces of safety, stability, and learning within local communities and church networks. At its heart, this ministry is a form of lived hope: a commitment to the slow, patient work of human flourishing. It seeks not only to meet immediate needs but to nurture the conditions in which children may grow in dignity, resilience, and belonging. In doing so, it reflects a wider vision of holistic transformation in which the care of body, mind, and spirit is held together as one integrated reality, and in Christ finds its true orientation toward the renewal and flourishing of life.
Misión Indígena is an Anglican network of ministries working across South America in partnership with Indigenous churches and communities in countries including Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile. Rooted in long-term accompaniment, it focuses on discipleship and leadership development, particularly in the Gran Chaco and other rural or marginalised regions. Working through local Anglican dioceses and mission partners, it supports theological training, pastoral care, education initiatives, and community development. At its heart is a commitment to empowering Indigenous leaders to guide their own churches and to shape the gospel within their own languages and cultural contexts.
